Seminar 1 (12.15pm – 1.15pm)
 Important Aspects of Intellectual Property: Russell Thom, a Patents Director from European Patent and Trademark Attorneys, Murgitroyd & Company, will discuss what you need to know, what you need to do, and what you need to avoid when protecting your intellectual property.

Russell joined Murgitroyd & Company in 2000 and is based in the company’s Glasgow office. He was appointed as a Director, Patents in 2008 and has a leading role in the management of the company’s life sciences team, as well as responsibility for risk management issues across the company. He also contributes regularly to www.eupatent.com, Murgitroyd & Company's sister website which details the latest developments in the European patent field.

 Learning Your Market Led by Mark Zwinderman, co-founder and Commercialisation Director of Surface Active solutions, this seminar will help you focus in on the market areas most relevant to your idea, and consider the best ways to approach your market.

Mark Zwinderman is co-founder and Commercialisation Director of Surface Active Solutions as well as being a Managing Director of Aboleo Ltd. Mark founded his first company in 2000 as a spin-out from Edinburgh Napier University. Since then he has become a serial entrepreneur bringing to market to market micro-emulsion technologies for the oil & gas and healthcare industries. Mark has raised over £800K worth of funding from grants and debt funding. And has achieved over £3.5 million worth of sales revenue over the past 7 years.

To come in person, please select which of the sessions you would like to attend. You are welcome to come to both, but as seating will be limited, please ensure you register for both seminars to ensure space is available. this seminar will be in the Postgraduate Centre, Room PGC 2.01.
